Murrayfield Ice Rink is a versatile building which can accommodate a whole variety of differing events. Over the years as well as Ice Hockey, the Arena has been used for Ice Shows, Ice Speedway, Large Conferences, Basketball, Boxing, Wrestling, Festival Events, Music Concerts and Indoor Large Screen Broadcasts.

Without alteration the building can seat over 3000 spectators to view ice events or, after the laying of a timber floor over the ice pad, many other activities requiring a 60m by 30m performance stage can take place.

When the 5cm layer of ice is removed altogether, which occasionally happens during the summer months, the polished concrete floor below, capable of taking vehicular traffic, presents even more opportunities for any prospective event Manager.

If the performance area is reduced in size, as can be done with basketball or boxing, seating can be introduced on the covered ice pad,  or on the concrete floor, and the spectator capacity increased to 5000. The Arena also has Bar and Cafeteria facilities and adjacent car parks as well as being close to excellent public transport services.
