Skaters Code of Conduct and Assumption of Risk Agreement

Assumption of Risk: By engaging in skating, skaters and spectators are deemed to have knowledge of, and assume the inherent risk of skating which included but are not limited to the following:
 
a) Injuries that result from collisions or contact with skaters or other individuals who are on the skating surface.
 
b) Injuries that result from falls.
 
c) Injuries that involve objects or artificial structures that are properly within the intended path of travel of skater.
 
Maintain reasonable control of his/her speed and courses at all times.
 
Read and abide by all posted signs and warnings and co-operate with rink staff.
 
Maintain a proper awareness to avoid other skaters, objects or conditions on the surface of the rink.
 
Accept responsibility for knowing the range of his/her ability and skate within these limits.
 
Refrain from skating while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or other control impairing substance.
 
Leave the ice surface when resurfacing maintenance is taking place.
 
Refrain from taking food or drink onto the rink surface or the surrounding dasher.
 
Refrain from acting in a manner that may cause or contribute to injury of themselves or any other person.
 
Refrain from instigating or becoming involved in any type of altercations with any other skater or spectator and engaging in abusive, abrasive or disorderly conduct.
 
Skaters must not throw or kick ice towards any other skater or spectator.
 
Do not sit, climb or put feet on barrier or stage.
 
We recommend the wearing of gloves.
 
Skating is inherantly dangerous, and is entirely at your own risk. Management will not be responsible for any loss or injury incurred.

Do's and Don'ts
 
Do make sure your skates are correctly laced.
Do wear gloves.
Do make sure you skate in an Anti Clockwise direction.
Do obey the skate marshalls and public address system.
 
Don't sit or climb on the safety barriers.
Don't chip, throw or spray ice.
Don't skate at excessive speeds.
Don't smoke, drink or eat on the ice.
Don't drop litter on the ice.
Don't carry children or young babies on the ice.
Don't skate in chains of more that 2 people.
Don't wear hats, scarfs or long coats on the ice.
