'The Caledonia Steel Queens, Scotland's first (and currently only) women's university ice hockey team, were officially founded in January 2018 after a couple of taster sessions in late 2017. Initially the team used the Time Capsule in Coatbridge for training and games, but found a permanent home in the iconic Murrayfield Ice Rink for the start of their first full season in 2018-19. The club is lucky to have players of high calibre to compliment the number of new participants the club has brought into the sport. Despite being a new club they have been successful in reaching two national finals and winning the BUIHA Women's Nationals trophy in 2019. The club is proud to be part of the family of team's calling Murrayfield home.'

Caledonia Steel Queens Crowned National Champions !
'That the Parliament congratulates Scotland’s first university women’s ice hockey team, the Caledonia Steel Queens, on winning the British Universities Ice Hockey Association (BUIHA) Women’s National Title in Nottingham with a perfect record; applauds the team's huge achievements in such a short period of time, particularly as the club was only officially formed in January 2018; notes that its successes include reaching three finals and one semi-final in the four national competitions that it has entered; considers the club to be a huge influence in attracting women to ice hockey given that the winning team included 15 new starts, and wishes the team well in developing new talent in future years.'
