MURRAYFIELD JUNIORS
Murrayfield Juniors is a great way to keep fit and meet new friends. There are five age groups Under 10's / 12's / 14's / 16's / 19's. Many top players started their hockey journey through the junior system and are frequently selected to the national team at all age groups and progress on to senior ice hockey. A number of coaches and volunteers ensure the success of the club and help introduce the next generation to the fastest team sport.
Qualified coaches. All club personnel, both on and off ice, are fully disclosed.
Training is held every Tuesday from 6pm onwards
Cross Ice Hockey is played over the width of the ice pad to reduce the area where the play never stops. The reduction in size aids development and effectively increases the time on the puck for each of the participants. The kids will learn to think, skate and react quicker in the smaller area which also creates more scoring opportunities than the traditional game. Cross ice games are exciting, fast paced and fun. Training, games and tournaments for the Under 10's are held throughout the year. Please contact the Juniors for more information.
CROSS ICE HOCKEY
Tony was the first British player to be drafted by an NHL team when he was picked by the Edmonton Oilers in 1986. Nicknamed Two point Tony, he holds several national records, and scored over 4000 points in his career, more than any professional hockey player at any level. Still over a point-per-game scorer deep into his forties, Tony retired in 2015 after a glittering career.
